From Newcomer to Legend: Keith Urban Earns Coveted Triple Crown Honor at ACMs

At the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards on May 8, 2025, held at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, Keith Urban was honored with the prestigious ACM Triple Crown Award. This accolade recognizes artists who have achieved wins in three of the ACM’s most esteemed categories: New Artist of the Year, Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. Urban’s journey to this honor included winning Top New Male Vocalist in 2001, Male Vocalist of the Year in 2005 and 2006, and Entertainer of the Year in 2019. Notably, he is the first artist to receive this award during the ACM Awards ceremony since Carrie Underwood in 2010.

The ceremony featured a star-studded tribute to Urban’s illustrious career. Chris Stapleton delivered a soulful rendition of “Stupid Boy,” Megan Moroney performed “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” and Brothers Osborne energized the audience with “Where the Blacktop Ends.” Urban joined Brothers Osborne on stage, adding to the night’s memorable performances.

In his heartfelt acceptance speech, Urban expressed deep gratitude to his wife, Nicole Kidman, affectionately referring to her as “babygirl,” and acknowledged their daughters, Sunday and Faith. He also thanked his team, fans, country radio, Capitol Records, and his road crew for their unwavering support throughout his career.

Urban also shared exciting news about his upcoming endeavors, including a tour with Blake Shelton and his role as a judge on the new CBS music competition series, “The Road,” set to premiere in the fall.

The 60th ACM Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, celebrated both emerging talents and seasoned artists, with performances from Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Cody Johnson, among others. The event was streamed live on Prime Video and the Amazon Music channel on Twitch, reaching audiences worldwide.
